Pro Kannada groups to protest by Bandh on Bangalore Statue issue

Leaders of various pro-Kannada groups have called for a Bangalore 'bandh' on 9th August, protesting against Karnataka government's decision to permit the inauguration of a statue of Tamil saint-poet Thiruvalluvar here on that day. However, ruling BJP government stays calm by this opposition, and begun the preparations for the inauguration function. Police department have drafted out security plans and measures to ensure peaceful and smooth going of this function. Earlier, yesterday Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa had invited his TN Chief minister M Karunanidhi for the function to be held at Halasur in the city. Mr Yeddyurappa is also invited for the unveiling of a statue of Kannada saint-poet Sarvajna in Chennai on August 13.

The effort of two governments to inaugurate the statues is to encourage the friendly relations between the people in the two states. This is a good initiative to improve the relations and is an opportunity to prove the unity of India. The politicians should understand and better not to bitter the goodness of the country. Any efforts that causes communal should be considered as a crime. Most of the political groups not really worrying about the people or the country and play their games which costs severe problems to ordinary civilians.
