Now its Bollywood star Padma Shri Shahrukh Khan in U.S. Detained for 2 hours

On Saturday, Bollywood stars Sharukh Khan was detained for two hours at the Newark airport in US because of the suspect over his surname. US Officials relieved him only after Indian diplomats intervened.

The detaining of oen of India's biggest stars, Shah Rukh Khan, has created anger among the indian fans. According  U.S. immigration officials, they have put Sharukh on hold after as his name appeared in a computer alert list.

Khan, who says he was frisked and had his luggage searched, says he was able to send a message to a politician in India after an hour of questioning. That politician then asked the Indian embassy in Washington to intervene. Khan was let go after consular officials sought his release.

Indian authorities said Khan's detainment was one of many such incidents its citizens have experienced in the U.S.

In 2005, Shrukh khan was honoured with India's highest and prestigious award, Padma Shri. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London installed a life-size statue of the bollywood hero.
Many Americans love his films. Sharuk has acted more than 70 movies and he is in U.S. now  to promote his latest release, My Name is Khan — which is a joint venture between 20th Century Fox and Star India, about an Indian Muslim who sets out on a journey across the U.S.

"I don't think frisking is conducted with a religious bias in mind, but in the U.S. there have been many such cases when authorities go overboard," Said the Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni to reporters in New Delhi.
